RPC’s Swift COVID-19 Response: Protecting Frontliners Nationwide
In March 2020, as COVID-19 surged across the Philippines, Reliance Producers Cooperative (RPC) rapidly transformed its Carmona facility into a certified medical-grade PPE manufacturing site. With support from DTI-BOI, DOH, PGH, and CONWEP, RPC secured FDA approval in record time—becoming a key contributor to the country’s pandemic response. In record time, RPC secured a License to Operate (LTO) as a Medical Device Manufacturer from the Philippine Food and Drug Administration (FDA), becoming a key player in the country’s pandemic response. This initiative was spearheaded by the Department of Trade and Industry – Board of Investments (DTI-BOI), in collaboration with the Department of Health (DOH), Philippine General Hospital (PGH), and other relevant agencies, with support from the Confederation of Wearable Exporters of the Philippines (CONWEP) as part of a broader self-reliance program for medical wear. 🛡️ Pioneering a New Standard of Safety RPC is proud to be the first garments manufacturer in the Philippines to achieve: These milestones mark a significant leap forward in the country’s ability to produce world-class protective equipment domestically. 🚚 Nationwide Impact By leveraging its robust manufacturing capabilities and working closely with private entities, foundations and local government units (LGUs), RPC was able to distribute PPE to 85 hospitals across the country, including 52 in NCR, 2 in Region I, 8 in CAR, 4 in Region III, 12 in Region IV-A, 1 in Region IV-B, 1 in Region V, 1 in Region VI, 3 in Region VII, and 1 in Region IX.
